Pet Friendly Chauffeur in Nottingham
Your dog travels with you, not left behind
Plenty of people who travel with a dog know the routine. You ring round, someone says no, or says yes and you wonder whether the car will really fit you, the dog and the bags.
Intel Cars is a pet friendly chauffeur service in Nottingham. You book ahead, tell us who is coming and where you are going, and we arrange a vehicle that suits the journey. Dogs and other suitable pets can travel in our Mercedes Vito executive minibus.
The Mercedes Vito
Pets travel in our Mercedes Vito, the executive minibus on our fleet. It takes up to seven passengers and has spacious luggage capacity, which helps when you are travelling with a dog and a lot of bags.
Seats are only part of the picture. A large dog, a crate and four big suitcases need more room than a small dog and an overnight bag. Send us the numbers, meaning how many people, how many pets and roughly how big, and how much luggage, and we will tell you whether it works before you book.
Safety comes first
Pet-friendly doesn't mean every animal on every journey. If a dog could be a risk to the driver, other passengers or itself, the journey may not be suitable, and we would rather say so before the day than at the door.
Rule 57 of the Highway Code says dogs should be suitably restrained, so they can't distract the driver or be hurt in a sudden stop. A harness, carrier or crate all count. If your dog uses one, tell us when you book. Our guide to travelling with a dog in a chauffeur car covers the rules and how to prepare.
What does a dog journey cost?
Dog journeys with our pet friendly chauffeur service have a minimum fare of £40.
The final price depends on the pickup, the destination, the distance and what you need, so give us the full journey details and we will confirm the fare before you travel.
Vets and groomers
A trip to the vet is stressful enough for a dog. A direct private journey means no changes, and no other passengers to think about if your dog is nervous, injured or just doesn't like travelling.
For vet and grooming appointments, tell us the pickup address, the address of the vet or groomer and your appointment time.

Airport journeys with a dog
Check with your airline first. Most UK airlines don't allow pets in the cabin, and some don't carry them at all, with assistance dogs generally the exception. Us taking your dog to the airport doesn't mean the airline will take it on the plane.
If your dog is part of an airport journey, give us every address and your flight details when you book. For airport pickups we offer flight monitoring, so your arrival time is taken into account.
See our airport transfers, our East Midlands Airport transfers and the Nottingham to East Midlands Airport guide. Not sure when to leave? Read how early to get to the airport.
Christmas travel with your dog
Christmas means presents, suitcases, children, and often a dog who is coming along to the family gathering. Managing all of that on public transport is hard work.
A pre-booked pet friendly chauffeur journey keeps you and your dog together from door to door. Book early, and confirm availability and the fare with us if you are travelling on or around Christmas Day.
Heading to the airport over the holidays? Send us your flight time, pickup address, number of passengers and your dog's size. For longer trips, tell us the full route when you ask for a quote. You can also read about our wider chauffeur service in Nottingham.
Large, nervous or more than one pet
Large dogs need more room than a dog in a carrier. Tell us roughly how big yours is, plus any crate, bed or large luggage.
Nervous dogs often do better with a direct journey and something familiar, like a blanket or travel mat. Let us know when you book.
More than one pet may be possible, depending on the animals, their size and the journey. Tell us how many, what they are and whether they use carriers or crates.
What to bring for your dog
- Lead and collar
- Water
- A familiar blanket or mat
- Waste bags and any medication
- Carrier, crate or harness, if your dog uses one
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are working dogs, not pets, and the law treats them differently. Under the Equality Act 2010, private hire operators and drivers must carry assistance dogs and cannot charge extra for them.
The £40 dog fare doesn't apply to assistance dogs. If you are travelling with one, tell us when you book so we can plan the pickup properly.
